STEWARDSHIP MINISTRIES

Seeking to share our gifts and talents with others in our community, St. Edward offers a wide variety of ministries and organizations in which members can participate. Stewardship is a way of life in which we share our time, talents and treasure with the parish community and the larger local community. This brief listing of various ministries is not exhaustive, but should give you an idea for service opportunities.


Altar Servers ~ This ministry is ideal for the youth of our parish who wish to participate in the celebration of the Mass in a special way. Boys and girls are welcome. For details Contact Susanna Garcia.
Altar Society ~ Inspired by the Blessed Mother, we promote love and respect the House of the Lord. We care for the altar, sacristies, chapel and linens in the spirit of fellowship. Contact Adelene Manka.
Art & Environment ~ Members create an environment in our church with symbols and visuals to set a reflective mood for worship. Contact Fr. Arnel Barrameda @ 281-353-9774.
Bereavement Group ~ The Bereavement group meets the first Wednesday of each month in the church parlor. Their goal is to provide a place where people, who have lost a loved one through death, can gather. Contact Mary Ann Martin.
Catholic Daughters of America ~ This organization participates in the religious, charitable and educational apostolate of the church. Members have the opportunity to influence the welfare of the church and all peoples throughout the world. Contact Judy Ascencios.
CCE Volunteers ~ This ministry provides a host of opportunities for those wishing to share their faith with the children of our parish throughout the school year on Sunday and Wednesday nights. We need teachers, teachers aides, arts & crafts people, Vacation Bible School volunteers (one week during the summer) as well as, those willing to lend their talents to various other categories. Children's Choir ~ The children's choir provides the young members of our parish an opportunity to use their singing talents. The choir encourages the development of young singer's talents, promotes the idea of service and strives to bring the child closer to a union with God through music. Contact Linda Gonzalez.
Children's Liturgy ~ This celebration is for 4-6 year olds at the 9:30am Mass. Volunteers are needed to assist Worship Leaders during this Mass time. Contact Carla Cantu @ 281-353-9774.
Compassionate Cooks ~ Volunteers and their culinary skills help in preparing and serving meals to those paying their respects following funeral services at St. Edward Church. Contact Mary Baumhoer.
Engaged Couple Sponsors ~ Provide engaged couples with the skills and tools required for a successful Christian marriage by providing quality guidance and coaching from trained Sponsor Couples. Contact Deacon Nick & Ann Thompson @ 281-353-9774 deaconnick@saintedward.com.
Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion ~ EMHC are called to serve God's people in a very special way. In ministering to the assembly at Mass, we help awaken in each communicant the fullest meaning of the Eucharist. Contact Jamie Burns.

Gabriel Project ~ The Gabriel Project is an ecumenical movement of churches standing together to offer assistance to women facing crisis pregnancies. Contact Annette Titlow
Gift Bearers for Mass ~ This is a great ministry that includes the whole family. Each Mass we need at least three people from a family to bring our community gifts to the priest at the altar. Contact Sally Sharum.
Greeter/Ushers ~ Men and women 15 years of age and older personally welcome all our worshipers, help them with seating, and take up the collection. Contact Deacon Ken Martin @ 281-353-9774.
Hospital Ministry ~ Bringing the sacraments of the Eucharistic to Catholic patients. This group ministers to different centers. Contact Anne Powers.
Hospitality Sunday ~ This once a month ministry of volunteers prepare and serve coffee, donuts and refreshments to our fellow parishioners, Hospitality Sunday is generally the second Sunday of each month following the 7:30, 9:30 & 11:30am Masses. Contact Mary Mobley.
Knights of Columbus ~ The Knights of Columbus is the world's largest Catholic men's fraternal service organization. We are committed to principles of charity, unity, fraternity and patriotism. Knights focus on protecting and enhancing their family life, making their community a better place, while supporting their Church. Contact Stephen Kane.
Lectors ~ Lectors proclaim the Word of God each week in our liturgy. Our mission is to make the Word of God come alive in the hearts and minds of our worshipers. Contact Jamie Burns.
Library Ministry ~ The parish library is a multimedia center where families may come and borrow books, cassettes and videos. Usual library duties are handled by volunteers. Contact the Parish Office @ 281-353-9774.
Music/Choir/Cantors/Instrumental ~ Members range in age from high school to adult. The group normally celebrates at the 9:30am Mass each Sunday and various holy days throughout the year. Contact Dayna Renia, Music Director.
Parish Homecoming Festival ~ An annual event for the whole parish community that takes place usually on the 2nd Sunday in October from 12:30-6pm. Volunteers are needed to help out with the games, food and rides as well, help plan the event. Contact Matt Gaskins or Charles Gustavus.
Respect Life/Parish Social Action Committee ~ Through awareness of these issues, our hope is to inspire prayer and awaken a desire for action. This ministry supports: Social Outreach, Northwest Assistance Ministries (NAM), food and clothing collections, blood drives, peace and justice groups and many other organizations. Sacramental Preparation ~ This ministry assists those preparing for Baptism and Adult Confirmation. Additional assistance is require in developing an (RCIC) Right of Christian Initiation of Children program. Contact Deacon Nick Thompson @ 281-353-9774 deaconnick@saintedward.com.
Senior Saints ~ This is a group of retirement age parishioners with the goals of having fun, fellowship and supporting the parish where needed. Contact Eunice Perusic.
Stewardship Committee ~ Promoting the spiritual principle of "Good Stewardship" is the main function of this committee. Members are involved in the annual Stewardship Sunday and Festival of Ministries campaigns, as well as, correspondence with the volunteers. Contact Charles Gustavus.
Sunday Babysitting ~ The nursery located in the Parish Hall provides a safe, comfortable and loving environment for the youngest members of our Catholic Christian community. Contact Maria Hartmann.
Vocation Committee ~ The vocations committee promotes vocations within our community by praying, distributing literature about different religious orders, making presentations to students and helping individuals with referrals. Contact the Fr. Arnel Barrameda @ 281-353-9774.
Welcoming Committee ~ The Welcome Committee makes personal contact with the new parishioners and those expressing an interest in our parish. Our mission is fellowship, answering questions and providing information on all St. Edward's Stewardship Committees. Contact Loretta James.
Wedding Rehearsal Facilitator ~ This ministry involves conducting wedding rehearsals in an orderly and precise manner following the guidelines of St. Edward Catholic Community. Most rehearsals take place on the Friday evening before the wedding. Contact Cindy Watson.
Youth Group Ministry ~ An opportunity for Jr. High and Senior High youth to give back to the community through service to those in need. Contact Patty Hendrex @ 281-353-9774.
