      Fourth Sunday in Ordinary Time

      Dear Parish Family,

This was such a blessed weekend. The Appreciation Dinner and the mortgage note are history. The parish took time to thank and honor all the ministers and volunteers for 2011. Thank you all for letting us honor you. The note burning, in a way, was so anti-climatic. The years of planning, building, and monthly payment and sacrifice that have been made…and a burning piece of paper…the smoke and ashes are all that is left of memories except that we continue to sing glory to God and are daily fed and nurtured at the Lord’s table!

One man’s generosity does not end the pledging heart of another man. There have been a couple of phone calls of inquiry wondering if the note burning ended our campaign of giving back to God of what He has given us. So, I pray you will continue your pledge. I am aware of the outstanding pledges and I pray that you will honor them. Based on outstanding pledges paid, we will be able to replace the tattered roof on the Parish Life Center and the Gym. Did you know those shingles and roof have been patched often but never replaced? The roofers need to come here to do their commercials on endurance and dependability. Thirty years, yes, believe it or not, it has been at least thirty years without replacement. So, the work goes on.

Just like the ministry I do for you…it doesn’t end with Baptism. We start formative years lending to Reconciliation, Holy Communion, and on and on. Building and ministry go hand and hand.  Jesus’ love keeps on going just like the “ever ready” battery. Please continue to help in building His Kingdom.

      Fr.Joe
